Benefits Specialist needed for an opening in Albany, NY.

The ideal candidate with have a Bachelor's Degree, 3 to 5 years of experience and a Life Health and Accident Agent License.

The Benefits Specialist's role is to retain and grow membership within dedicated group of health accounts in collaboration with all internal support areas for successful implementation, renewal, and ongoing account satisfaction.

Essential Functions

  • Develop, manage and grow client and broker relationships 
  • Collaborate with all internal support areas for successful implementation and ongoing account satisfaction for all accounts assigned.
  • Coordinate all services and aspects of account renewal including renewal rating strategy, development and presentation to client.
  • Gather all carrier submission material and coordinate review and delivery of carrier contracts/policies.
  • Respond to client complaints and concerns in an effective and timely manner.
  • Support and provide service to client representatives, sales executives, brokers and consultants.

Requirements of the Benefits Specialist

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3-5 years brokerage experience OR account management experience preferred
  • Public presentation experience and persuasive communication style are a must
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Lotus Notes
  • Strong customer service orientation 
  • Ability to work independently
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to assume leadership role both internally and externally
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Comfortable in a fast paced deadline oriented environment

Required Licenses:   

  • Life Health and Accident Agent required
