Full-time, direct hire opportunity in Erie, PA for a Portfolio Manager.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's Degree and at least 3 to 5 years of investment management, credit analysis and portfolio trading experience.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Portfolio Manager include:

  • Manages overall operations of designated area of authority.
  • Interviews, hires, trains and directs personnel. 
  • Works with the Portfolio Manager to design, plan and implement investment strategy for an assigned segment of the fixed income portfolio.
  • Responsible for achieving investment return objectives within an acceptable level of risk.
  • Establishes and maintains ongoing, professional relationships with representatives from brokerage firms and investment banks 
  • Executes the buying and selling of securities for the portfolio, as authorized.
  • Negotiates with brokers and dealers for the best price and return.
  • Prepares written credit analyses and performs due diligence of fixed income investment opportunities.
  • Monitors credit changes and company/industry trends and assesses the impact on the valuation and ratings of fixed income portfolio investments. 

Requirements and Skills of the Portfolio Manager

  • Bachelor's Degree in business with an emphasis in finance or accounting, or related degree required. Master's Degree preferred.
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of analytical and investment experience in capital markets, including an in-depth knowledge of corporate finance required.
  • Credit analysis and trading experience
  • Investment Management, must have experience in municipal bonds
  • High grade of asset class, portfolio trading
  • Working knowledge of fixed income securities underwriting and markets, and credit rating reports required.
  • Experience managing and trading municipal bond portfolios preferred.
  • Proficiency with Bloomberg as well as word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software required.
  • Ability to manage complexity
