Our client in Pittsburgh, PA is looking to add a Senior Application Developer to their team.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Application Developers to ensure quality products and scalable solutions.
  • Evaluate business requirements and processes to provide solutions and accurate estimates for development efforts
  • Design, develop, test, implement and support solutions and enhancements for systems and processes.
  • Generate, test, and document program code; Debug and resolve moderate to complex problems.
  • Reviews team work products for quality and adherence to standards (peer code review).
  • Modify existing applications (or write new ones) of moderate to high complexity and scope, working with applications systems designs and specifications and utilizing standards, procedures, and techniques.
  • Operate in an environment that adheres to ITSM and Lean principles, Agile and Waterfall methodologies, as well as the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Coordinate testing and debugging for programming changes and assist subordinates with debugging.
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications

  • Stays up to date with IT technology issues, trends and developments

  • Mentors others in areas of expertise, including current technologies, systems, business practices, and standards.

Requirements and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
  • Minimum 5 years application development
  • Minimum 3 years Enterprise Web Application Development
  • Skilled at object oriented principles, application design, development methodologies, service oriented architecture
  • Developing ASP.NET Web Applications in Visual Studio.NET 2012/2013 using the Microsoft.NET framework ( 4.0 and above), MVC Entity Framework, Microsoft SQL Server 20012/2014, XML, XSL, web services
  • Client-side technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX
  • Reporting Services (SRSS)

  • Writing and optimizing SQL Stored Procedures and Triggers

  • Strong problem-solving, work prioritization, communication, self-direction, and time management.

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Good time management skills

  • Building secure N Tier web applications
  • Application Architecture and Design
