Corporate Financial Controller

Job Description
Direct hire opening with our client for a Financial Controller. Hybrid work option after initial onsite training. CPA preferred with retail industry experience highly preferred.
Overview of Responsibilities:
- Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- CPA certification preferred.
- 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
- Retail industry experience preferred; multi-unit, multi-state.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP, related financial reporting standards, including inventory, lease accounting, revenue recognition standards, financial statements and budgeting.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, monthly closure and reporting).
- Strong project ownership and management skills with ability to lead a team
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Expert Excel skills as well has proficiency with Microsoft Office application suite
- Great Plains experience a plus.
