Job Description
Direct hire opening with our client for a Metallurgical Engineer.
Responsibilities
- Develop manufacturing processes for new and existing products to achieve optimal extrusion productivity and recovery
- Identify and resolve extrusion process issues by developing robust extrusion processes and optimizing the manufacturing process
- Support and train operators in the fundamentals of the extrusion process
- Solve complex technical problems to root cause by providing metallurgical or materials expertise to manufacturing processes
- Interpret failure data and tests to identify material issues
- Comply and promote safety initiatives within normal job duties as well as throughout the operation
- Oversee process monitoring and operating Instructions
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Metallurgy, Material Science or related field preferred OR High School Diploma with advanced training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5 years or more experience with aluminum extrusion processing supporting manufacturing operations.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with little or no supervision
- Dependable, responsible, reliable, and accountable with a strong work ethic
