Job Description
Direct hire opportunity with our client for a Piping Designer.
Essential Functions
Piping Designer - 26073
Essential Functions
- Evaluate and analyze requirements and prepare necessary designs as per piping specifications for clients
- Prepare 3D equipment modelling and 3D design
- Develop engineering design details and special items drawings
- Interpret all design codes and ensure effective performance of all piping activities.
- Work with the purchasing department on requisitioning and sourcing of material
- Write shop orders instructing the fabrication and assembly of equipment.
- Write technical documentation, specifications, and spare parts lists.
- 2-year Technical degree required
- Experience drafting P&IDs; chemical storage/process piping background preferred.
- AutoCAD 3D experience
- Knowledge of industry codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, OSHA, NFPA).
- Ability to take instruction and work unsupervised
- Strong problem-solving and technical aptitude.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
