Direct hire opening for a Purchasing Director with our client. Work onsite in Butler, PA area.
In this role you are responsible for negotiating with vendors for the purchase of all materials, supplies, equipment, and services for the the company.Â

In this role you are responsible for negotiating with vendors for the purchase of all materials, supplies, equipment, and services for the the company.Â
Overview of Essential Functions
- Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation
- Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power
- Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
- Assess, manage and mitigate risks
- Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers
- Determine quantity and timing of deliveries
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
Requirements and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field required.
- 15+Â years of purchasing experience including contract and pricing negations
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- JD Edwards experience preferred
- Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Solid judgement along with decision making skills
- Strong leadership capabilities
- Strong analytical ability, good judgment and operational focus
