Oxford Solutions has a contract to hire opportunity for a Technical Writer for a role focused on technical product proposals. Must be able to work onsite in Plano, TX.  

In this role you will be a key member of the proposal team working on product proposals related to technology used in correctional facilities. You will apply in-depth functional and technical knowledge of integrated correctional technology solutions and be responsible for assisting the Proposal Development team and sales organization by analyzing client bids and developing and/or optimizing technical responses for products and services. 
 

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Proposal Developer to define non-standard technical proposal task assignments and responsibilities.
• Read, understand and interpret a variety of detailed technical documents
• Research, gather and coordinate non-standard technical responses from other departments as necessary.
• Partner with various teams to create innovative technical responses.
• Monitor proposal status including deadlines.
• Maintain and refine the content library and RFP response template.
• Collaborate with marketing and other departments teams to coordinate, develop, and distribute RFP content to the greater team.
• Manage content versioning and review process by appropriate subject matter experts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or related engineering field or equivalent relevant experience preferred
• 3 to 5 years in-depth sales engineering and technical writing experience 
• Experience with web-based collaboration and content management systems (such as Microsoft SharePoint) preferred  
• Experience with technical writing to support state and local government RFPs preferred.
• Proficient in communicating and collaborating with personnel at all levels of an organization
• Ability to articulate technical ideas into simple language
• Proficiency in Microsoft MS Office suite of products
• Must be able to work extended hours as needed when facing proposal deadlines
